What I run into as a first issues is that the notes of two triplets in the first measure are connected. How can I separate them? Before you press Command 3 you selected the value of the triplets. If its quarter triplets you must put in a half note or half rest then press Command 3 and that will give quarter triplets. If it is 8th note triplets you select a quarter note or a quarter rest then press command 3 and it will give you the 8th note triplets.As explained there, You don't do it by first entering notes then turning them into a triplet; you do it by first selecting the length of the whole tuplet, then hitting Ctrl-3 to divide it into three equal parts, then entering the notes. BTW, "crotchet" translates into American English as "quarter note", not "whole note".

Also, I'm unsure why Musescore doesn't make it easy to beam all triplets together, and when I do it manually it removes the bracket which I would like to keep (or have the option of including). thanks.
